GSW ENDORSEMENT PROCEDURE

The Louisiana State Board of Social Work Examiners may grant endorsement to MSWs who hold a current social work credential in another jurisdiction with qualifications equivalent to those required for the Louisiana credential.

The current requirements for GSW certification are as follows: Candidate must be of good moral character, hold a master’s degree from a graduate school of social work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education and a passing score on an examination approved by the board. The board will accept a passing score on the Masters Examination administered by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB).

The Louisiana Social Work Practice Act does not allow for waiver of any of the requirements.

To Apply for Endorsement:

	Submit completed application (notarized with original photo attached).
	Submit Application Fee of $75.00.
	Official Master’s Transcript (direct from the University).
	Verification of Licensure, Certification or Registration in Other State/Province Form completed and submitted by each jurisdiction in which you have been issued a social work credential. You may make copies of this form to submit to several boards. You are responsible for any fees associated with having your credential verified. The form must be submitted to our office direct from the state licensure board and must either be notarized or possess the board’s seal.
	Submit a copy of the licensing law by which the credential was granted.
	Official Score Report (direct from ASWB) required if jurisdiction that issued credential does not provide a copy with the above-referenced verification form. You are responsible for any fees associated with having the score report sent by ASWB.

Review Process:

Applications will be reviewed by the Louisiana State Board of Social Work Examiners for approval after all official forms/documents are received in the board office. The board meets every six (6) weeks. The deadline for accepting documents is seven (7) days prior to the meeting.
