Below is some important information regarding continuing education.
Note: Continuing education is required by state law and can not be waived without a change in the law. However, the Rules, Standards and Procedures have a rule in place for requesting an extension to collect continuing education. Please note that Rule 317.M.9. allows social workers to obtain continuing education through formal study groups of three or more participants. A letter must be submitted to the board office listing the name, address, telephone number and credentials of each group member. Study groups should maintain records of topics, attendance, meeting times and presenters for audit purposes.
